Start Date: 6/24/2016 -  
A wind-driven wildfire claimed more than 19,000 acres, two lives and at least 80 homes and another 20 structures near Lake Isabella, east of Bakersfield. The blaze continued to threaten 1,500 homes and displayed erratic behavior. Residents were evacuated from nearby communities. Gov. Jerry Brown issued a state of emergency for Kern County to allow more resources to be directed toward the affected communities. Los Angeles Times, June 24, 2016
