EXCLUSIVE: Principal photography is underway for Courtney Hoffman’s feminist western short The Good Time Girls from Haven Entertainment. Hoffman writes, Quentin Tarantino executive produces and Laura Dern stars in this 1880s tale about three female vigilantes who seek revenge against the outlaws who ruined their lives. Alia Shawkat, Annalise Baso, Q’orianka Kitcher, Garret Dillahunt, and Dana Gourier also star. There are plans to ultimately turn this short into a feature or miniseries. Haven Entertainment’s Jordana Mollick (Hello, My Name Is Doris) produces with Shannon McIntosh and Refinery29 also serving as EPs. Hoffman was the costume designer on The Hateful Eight and the upcoming Captain Fantastic. McIntosh produced such Tarantino titles as The Hateful Eight and served as EP on Grindhouse and Django Unchained. The Good Time Girls will be presented by the AFI Conservatory Directing Workshop for Women, in conjunction with Refinery29’s Film Series, ShatterBox Anthology. That short film series explores the dynamics of power through the lens of 12 emerging female storytellers.
