The public is invited to the Chattanooga Public Library’s downtown branch's fourth floor on Tuesday from 1-7 p.m. as they premiere the gigpowered LoLa stage for International Make Music Day.

Musicians in Chattanooga will be performing live with musicians in Burlington, Vt. using specialized low latency software (LoLa) and ultra highspeed internet connections between the two cities.

In between scheduled performances local musicians in both communities are invited to bring
their instrument of choice to try the technology themselves with musicians in the other city.

To get everyone started together the LoLa Stage lineup will offer simple music lessons for
harmonica (1 p.m.) and Ukulele (3 p.m.) which will be preceded by professional performances, then
followed by community jams with musicians in Chattanooga and Burlington.

The low latency audio visual streaming system will allow artists in remote locations to
collaborate and perform together while also providing educational opportunities for participating
partners to access resources unavailable in their local communities.

The Chattanooga Public Library recently demonstrated the LoLa technology at The Smart City
Innovation Summit in Austin, Tx., cohosted by the City of Austin and US Ignite. The event
brought together leaders and members of more than 100 communities to link progressive cities
with state of the art solutions and best practices.
