The instructions are written for smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger size(s) the instructions will be written thus ( ).
Front and Back (make 2 pieces alike)
Cast on 55 (61-67-73-81-93) stitches (sts).
Proceed in garter stitch (knit every row), noting first row is wrong side (WS), until total length measures 19 (20-20-21-21-22)"

Shape neck: 1st row: [Right side (RS)]. K15 (18-20-24-26-32) and leave on a st holder. Cast off 25 (25-27-27-29-29) sts for neck. Knit to end of row. Continue (Cont) in garter st on last 15 (18-20-24-26-32) sts until neck measures 2"[5 cm], ending on a RS row. Cast off.

Finishing
Sew shoulder seams. Place markers on side edges 7 (7½-7½-8-8-8½)" [18 (19.5-19.5- 20.5-20.5-22.5) cm] down from shoulders.
Sew side seams to markers.

I think this tank is cute. I am making it right now. I think the only thing that keeps this pattern from being complete is the fact I don't find any instructions for the cap sleeves on it and that is what makes it so cute.

This is a cute top for summer. It also seems like a good on for a beginning knitter who is just learning to make a garment that requires sewing the seams. I have only made one other top that required seaming, so this would be a good one to do next. I think the neckline in the back could be made higher by adding rows to the back before shaping the next and then subtracting the number of rows used after the neck is shaped by the same number.

Oh, I like this. I hope I have time to make it before hot weather sets in because it would make a great vest type of over garment for cool days as well as a top for hot weather. It's so simple! I do think, though, that the neckline on the back could be higher than the front and I'm not sure how to change that. Any ideas?

While I like the simplicity therefore speed of the pattern, why -as in many other patterns - is the gauge specified as 'crochet gauge' ? Being knit in garter stitch, would it not be better to have the gauge in garter stitch, as in knit? Just curious

Hi. I'd like to make this top, but wonder if any changes have been adjusted to the comments above? Also, I'm all for reducing final seaming... can it be knitted in the round, just as easily from the bottom until the sleeve?
