Four years after launching its successful Kickstarter campaign, Pebble is back with a new smartwatch, the successor to the original, simply called the Pebble 2. That’s not all though, the company announced in its Kickstarter campaign 2 more devices: the Pebble Time 2, successor to the original Time, and an all-new Pebble Core.

Pebble is focusing this new lineup to fitness tracking, so naturally the Pebble 2 comes with a built-in heart-rate monitor and features a Gorilla Glass anti-scratch display instead of a plastic one like the first Pebble to make it more resistant. It is also water-resistant up to 30 meters and has a built-in microphone as well for making voice notes or replying to a text message. Battery life has been the main strength of Pebble’s smartwatch, and the new model doesn’t disappoint – featuring a battery that will last as long as 10 days on a single charge. On the software department, the Pebble 2 runs an updated version of Pebble’s own Timeline operating system.

In terms of design, the smartwatch maintains the same rectangular look as its predecessor but with a more refined look. It comes in 5 different colors and is the most affordable model in the new lineup, starting at just $99 if you get it on Kickstarter before the campaign ends, but after that it will retail at $129.

The Time 2 is a more elegant version of the Pebble, made of stainless steel and featuring a color e-paper display that is readable even under direct sunlight. It also has a built-in heart monitor, microphone and a 10-day battery life.

The Time 2 comes in Gold, Black or Silver and is available on Kickstarter for $169 and will retail for $199 after the campaign is over on June 30th.

Pebble Core

The Core is the first device from Pebble that is not a smartwatch and it’s definitely their most interesting product yet. It has all the basic functionalities you would want when going out for a run without having to carry your smartphone with you. The tiny device features GPS functionality so you can track your steps, pace and distance, it can stream music directly from Spotify and it even has a built-in microphone to make voice notes. You can even insert a SIM card and have access to your cellular network. You don’t need to worry about battery life as it lasts up to 9 hours on a single charge.

The Core is available right now on Kickstarter for $69 and will retail for $99 when it comes out to the market in January.

Are you excited for the new Pebble devices? Do you plan on backing up their Kickstarter campaign or wait until they’re available on retail?
