Booking on a Bike

Exercise students' brains and bodies at the same time! I'm the school librarian at a Southern NJ high school. I'd like to put three recumbent cycle workstations in our library for students to read books or do school work while they are pedaling. I got the idea from a university in Alabama (https://americanlibrariesmagazine.org/2016/05/02/sweating-in-stacks/).
Picture it: fidgety students during study halls -- students who don't own electronic devices to use while exercising elsewhere -- students with opportunities to move written into their IEPs -- or just reading and cycling without bugs and humidity! Libraries are places of joy, socializing, and learning. Help our library also become a place for total wellbeing!
We even have a spot picked out... there's blank space between a set of classroom desks and a raised rotunda-like area.
Three cycles will easily fit there physically, programmatically and pragmatically. Thank you for participating in the wellbeing of the students and the enhancement of the library as a place people want to visit.
