Even with a small footprint, one can see a diversity of designs and creative solutions in small homes to maximize space. So far we have seen lots of lofts or even a lack thereof, transformer furniture, curved roofs and different layouts that diverge out of the expected tiny house interior.

North Carolina's Brevard Tiny Homes built this light-filled 8-foot by 24-foot, 192-square-foot specimen with two lofts that tucks its kitchen in a L-shape, behind the stair, and under the main sleeping loft. Dubbed the Chickadee, the home's kitchen prep space feels quite extensive as the counters are continuous, rather than split up as we've seen in other designs. One could probably add more shelving on the wall here too. It's definitely a kitchen for people who love to cook a storm, as it's equipped with a four-burner stove and a large refrigerator.

There's lots of pantry storage too, thanks to a multitude of drawers and shelving.

Located across from the double patio doors, the sitting area has a built-in bench that hides even more storage.

The stairs have storage, and have removable blocks to help pets to step up. Inside the cubbies, there are rolling trays to make organization even easier.

The lofts are naturally lit by the high windows, and have more headroom due to the sloping shed-style roof.

The bathroom has a pretty large bathtub, big enough for soaking in, unlike the showers we often see in tiny homes. There's also a space for a washer/dryer unit.

There's some nice ideas to like in this modern and functional design, which allows for a larger kitchen and even a bathtub to be included in the mix. The Chickadee is available as a fully finished turnkey for USD $55,300.
