Job Description Summary

The Kubernetes Engineer will be responsible for the design and delivery of system integration and support solutions. This role will be responsible for performing and supervising design, development and implementation of Micro services solution in Datacenter & AWS Cloud. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the technical production support of Micro services solutions including AWS cloud. Candidate will have large scale Micro services solution implementation experience in a complex distributed Java environment spanned across data center & AWS.

Job Duties

  • A self-starter who can motivate the team to execute against the roadmap and strategy to develop next generation features that support the cloud platform strategy.
  • Resolve complex technical issues and drive innovations that improve system availability, resilience and performance.
  • Passionate about developer productivity.
  • Excited by building reliable, self-healing services.
  • Automate testing and development of software modules to a high-quality standard.
  • Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives and demos.
  • Produce clear documentation for delivered solutions.
  • Orchestrate staging and production deployment.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in large scale Kubernetes environments with roles focusing on design, delivery, and operations of at-scale multi-tenant infrastructure
  • Managing our Kubernetes Lifecycle: deployments, upgrades, monitoring, and uptime of all K8S clusters on-premises/cloud
  • Good Understanding of Kubernetes networking, storage, Ingress controllers , cloud native load balancers etc
  • Infrastructure Automation Experience with common platforms (Jenkins, Spinnaker, Gitlab) and scripting (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Helm, Python)
  • Experience with Docker – creating and managing docker files.
  • Has hands-on experience using source control (Git, GitHub) and feature branching strategies
  • Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (must have used the console or used CLI, and API’s)
  • Experience with monitoring, logging and operations tools such as ELK, EFK, Grafana, Rancher, Sysdig, Wireshark, Promethus
  • Strong working experience with Linux Systems Administration and Troubleshooting
  • Good understanding of network technologies like DNS, Load Balancing, SSL, TCP/IP, HTTP
  • Experienced with systems roll-outs, adhering to change management, transitions from project phase to on-going systems support and disaster recovery and recovering complex environments.
  • Ability to quickly prioritize issues/requests and be capable of personally diving deep when required to deliver solutions within an accelerated timeframe and works well under pressure and can resolve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, presenting, listening and informing and communicate up, down and across the organization
