Today people from around the world gathered for our annual developer conference, F8, to hear the latest updates on the Facebook platform. Among today’s announcements were several new tools and platform features to help businesses grow using Facebook. Here are the F8 announcements businesses should know about.
LiveRail Adds Mobile Display and Improved Targeting Capabilities
LiveRail, our platform that enables publishers to monetize their apps and websites, will now serve mobile display ads for the first time. This means publishers can now manage video and display ads across mobile devices, making it easier to control ads business and increase yield. LiveRail publishers also now have access to Facebook’s anonymized demographic insights, helping them show visitors more relevant ads and deliver better results for advertisers.
Introducing Facebook Analytics for Apps
Facebook Analytics for Apps launched today, helping developers and marketers understand their app’s audience across devices, measure how people use their app and grow their businesses by showing more relevant ads to audiences. The free analytics tool for mobile apps helps marketers measure the lifetime value of customers acquired through different campaigns and networks.
We’re also testing a feature that measures performance of mobile app install ads across different ad networks and devices, so advertisers can look at one dashboard to see how all their campaigns are performing.

Businesses on Messenger
Messenger brings people together to express themselves and connect to the people that matter most in a simple and personal way, and soon it will connect businesses to their customers too. Today we previewed Businesses on Messenger, which will enable companies to use Messenger to send messages, like order confirmations, shipping statuses and delivery notices to customers who choose to participate. Customers can also use Messenger to reach out to businesses with questions and receive quick responses.

New Marketing APIs Open to any Developer
Facebook Marketing APIs are now open to all developers, offering new opportunities to build on the Facebook ad platform and drive revenue. Today, we’re launching an updated version of the Ad Management API that makes it easier to create and manage campaigns, and we’re introducing a new Ads Insights Edge API to provide a single, consistent interface for business and ad insights.

Updated App Ads Helper
Developers use the App Ads Helper to help them set up their mobile apps, and now they can use it beyond the setup process. We updated App Ads Helper so it now monitors app events and ad delivery. Plus, it has new tools to verify and debug apps. Try out the new App Ads helper.
