This past weekend we let 12 design bloggers loose in west elm London and challenged them to style their own cozy + comfortable room sets within the store. The result? An explosion of creativity! Here are the 6 finished spaces.

Karine (Bodie & Fou) + Carole (Mademoiselle Poirot)

“The key theme for us was contemporary cosiness: Autumn leaves (yellow) and grey, stormy skies in sultry grey & black. It’s the moody season and we wanted to capture the textures, long evenings by candlelight, tea and cake, curling up with a good book, but still keeping a taste of the outdoors with an urban jungle thrown in,” – Carole, Mademoiselle Poirot

Kate (Fabric of my Life) + Geraldine (Little Big Bell)

“Now that winter and shorter days are approaching, I think bright colours like yellow maintains a sense of light. We’ve balanced the yellow with its perfect colour partner Teal and played with textures and layers such as that knitted throw to add a sense of cosiness and warmth.”

“It’s a relaxed, lived in feel, hence the reality of crumpled sheets, ruffled bedspread and breakfast in bed (complete with Croissant crumbs)! The pillow cases in the contrasting colour palette are a pleasant surprise of how Polka dots and stripes can combine so well.”

“We love how West Elm supports local makers and added Matt Pugh’s wooden owls on our bedside table. Why buy one owl? Get a pair to make cool bookends!” – Geraldine, Little Big Bell.

Caroline (Trend Daily) + Toni (Skandivis)

“Our home office was a Scandinavian-inspired room set, mixing mid-century wirh modern and a healthy dose of house plants! We aimed for a mix between a real life scenario and a more dramatic set-design, in a nod to west elm’s fabulous visual merchandising! We added the bag, shoes, drink and chocolate bars for a touch of reality –  a “moment in time at the desk of…”

“We reused the west elm shopping bag as a holder for the hanging ivy. Stacked books make a great display in an office and we love to use plain hanging wallpaper as a backdrop for photos/postcards, even your own drawings!” – Caroline, Trend Daily.

Tiffany (Curate + Display), Annie (Style Juicer) + Lucy (Style by Lucy)

“We wanted to play with a dark, muted colour palette with a Scandinavian feel. As winter draws closer, our thoughts are turning to snuggling up and getting cosy, so our look is tactile, with layers of texture from the fluffy Mongolian Lamb and velvet cushions to the Slate Jute Rug

“With the beautiful brick wall as our backdrop, an industrial look started to emerge, and we added in the ‘Made In Brooklyn’ tote as a nod towards West Elm’s home. Makes you want to kick off your shoes and jump in, right?” – Tiffany, Curate + Display.

All the bloggers did such an amazing job the rooms look totally homely and real – just the job after a long day at work coming home to one of these rooms would be just comf’i’licious!
