  1. Sweet potatoes contain copper, which aids in the production of collagen, which helps keep our skin taut and helps keep our muscles healthy.
  2. They have electrolyte potassium which our bodies use for muscle contraction, nerve transmission, bone health, water balance, normal blood pressure, and regulate heartbeat. Great having for a post workout snack as well, try a sweet potatoe with almond butter!
  3. Great source of b6, which helps reduce the levels of homocysteine { which has been linked to degenerative diseases } in our bodies.
  4. They are a great source of Vitamin C.  Vitamin C is not only good for keeping away colds, but it also is great for tooth and bone formation, digestion, blood cell formation, speeding up wound healing, and it helps produce collagen too. Perfect to this time of year.
  5. Great source Vitamin D. Did you know most Americans are low in this vitamin? Vitamin D is very important for the immune system, helps build healthy bones, heart, nerves, teeth, and skin, and aids the thyroid gland. Another great thing to have during the winter months.
