As reported last week, we opened a ticket to Charter Digital for certain callers on their network who were unable to reach a selection of RingCentral numbers.  After multiple calls and escalations, Charter Digital finally admitted they had a problem with their network call routing late Sunday evening.  The ticket was escalated to their network team and resolved today.

At this point, there are 0 known issues with other carriers reaching RingCentral numbers.  

Please let me know if you have any other callers reporting that they cannot reach your RingCentral number and I can escalate as appropriate.

Why did this happen and where can I direct a complaint?

All carriers are regulated by the FCC and they have a page where you can report this type of mismanagement of call routing services:

Based on this FCC article, this is apparently a known issue for rural numbers, both analog and VoiP, with larger carriers that have on occasion listed a number as disconnected in their call routing tables.  Since each carrier maintains a separate list of numbers and where they terminate, this can lead to the issue we have seen this past week.

So are you saying RingCentral is a small carrier?

No, RingCentral is a carrier with over 300k customers, traded on the NYSE, and backed financially by AT&T, Polycom, Cisco, and other firms.  They are one of the largest, best VoiP cloud services out there which is why we sell the service and continue to do so.
