Could Luis Suarez be playing in the Premier League next season? Well, Arsene Wenger is ready to test Barcelona's resolve to keep the Uruguayan, according to The Sun.

Arsenal's manager believes he will have money to spend on a world-class striker this summer and Suarez is supposedly his No 1 choice, especially as the Premier League's top scorer in 2013-14, with 31 goals, faces an uncertain future at Camp Nou.

He has struggled for form since returning from his bite ban and Andoni Zubizarreta, the man who brought Suarez to Catalonia, was sacked as Barca sporting director earlier this month.

Barca, says The Sun, would have to swallow plenty of pride to let Suarez go - but that will not deter Wenger it seems.

He famously made a £40 million plus £1 bid for the Uruguay international in 2013. And he tried again last year before Suarez left Liverpool for £75m.

Wenger, however, remains keen on the hitman, despite the baggage that comes with, and would jump at the chance of teaming Suarez up with fellow South American star Alexis Sanchez.

Wenger also remains optimistic he can pull off a bargain deal for Valencia starlet Jose Luis Gaya before the end of the transfer window, reports The Express.

The 19-year-old left-back is apparently considered one of the brightest talents in Spain.

Gaya's current contract has a £13.5m release clause in it and Wenger believes the youngster could represent a bargain at that price if he continues to develop as expected.

However, Real Madrid, the team linked with anybody half decent, are also now on the case and could look to hijack the Gunners' interest.

Arsenal and Chelsea target Mattia Destro will decide on his future within days after holding crunch talks with AC Milan over a move to the San Siro.

The Roma striker was heavily linked with a switch to Arsenal and Chelsea last summer after a stunning season in Serie A.

However, he has struggled for regular game time this campaign and has been in talks with Milan in recent days over a loan move.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have set their sights on Tottenham's Harry Kane and Liverpool's Raheem Sterling, according to sources in Spain, and will sell 'wantaway' striker Karim Benzema to Arsenal to fund the deals.

The Express has reported a story on Spanish sports website Fichajes.net that claims Real want to cash in on the Frenchman and that both Arsenal and Manchester United are interested.

Despite the slim chance of Real being interested in Kane, it seems Spanish media are insisting that Carlo Ancelotti has been alerted to the 21-year-old's 18 goals for Spurs this term.

Arsenal are also keeping close tabs on Italian defender Daniele Rugani.

Despite landing Gabriel Paulista from Villarreal, and having brought in Krystian Bielik earlier this month, Wenger still wants defensive back-up, reports talkSPORT.

And he has identified Italian prospect Rugani, 20, after his displays for Empoli this season.

Real are also understood to be in the running to land the youngster, who is currently co-owned by Empoli and Juventus.

Arsenal striker Joel Campbell has joined Spanish club Villarreal on loan for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old's move is part of the deal that sees Paulista move to the Premier League club for £15m.

Liverpool are ready to sign Arsenal's Chuba Akpom, with the young striker currently stalling on signing a new contract at the Emirates, reveals The Metro.

Akpom, 19, who is rated as one of Arsenal's most exciting talents, is in the final year of his deal with the Gunners and is keeping his options open.

Arsenal have put fresh terms in front of him but, despite being promoted to the first-team and playing four games already, he could move away, with Liverpool keen.

They have joined Manchester City in the race, while Borussia Dortmund and Twente have made pre-contract offers to get him in the summer.
