UrgentCareTravel Offers DOT/Medical Services Membership Program to Professional Drivers Seeking Affordable, Convenient Truck-Friendly Healthcare Services

MIAMI BEACH, FL--(Marketwired - Oct 7, 2014) - UrgentCareTravel is pleased to announce today, at the 2014 ATA Management Conference & Exhibition in San Diego, the availability of their DOT/medical services membership program providing professional drivers and their family members with affordable, convenient and comprehensive access to DOT physicals and medical services. Individuals who are medically uninsured, underinsured, or wanting to manage their high insurance deductibles can take advantage of the new membership program to affordably manage and monitor their health. Located exclusively at Pilot Travel Centers and Flying J Travel Plazas, UrgentCareTravel's medical clinics offer a comprehensive set of services including DOT Physicals, Primary Care, Occupational Medicine, Complete History & Physical and Labs.

"We developed a healthcare model that puts the driver in control of their health providing an affordable, convenient and comprehensive program. Drivers can literally get their DOT physical and medical services while they fuel or during their required downtime," said Siva Suresh, Executive Chairman of UrgentCareTravel. "We value our relationship tremendously with Pilot Flying J which enables us to address the key healthcare needs of professional drivers -- clinics that are located close to the highway offering the healthcare services they need, with suitable parking and no waiting."

UrgentCareTravel has deployed primary medical care clinics at Pilot Travel Centers and Flying J Travel Plazas located along major interstate highways. They are currently located in Knoxville, TN (I-40) and Oklahoma City, OK (I-40) and opening soon in Cartersville, GA (I-75), with planned locations including Dallas, TX (I-20), East St. Louis, IL (I-55/70, I-64), Waco, TX (I-35) and Carlisle, PA (I-81).

"Pilot Flying J is committed to making life better for professional drivers," said Jimmy Haslam, CEO of Pilot Flying J. "We understand the challenge professional drivers face in maintaining a healthy lifestyle while on the road, and we champion better health and wellness for both our team members and professional drivers through a variety of programs. This partnership with UrgentCareTravel allows us to provide on-site care as an additional service aimed at making life better for drivers."

The DOT/medical services membership program does not provide comprehensive health insurance nor is it a contract of insurance. The program costs $40 per month for the primary member, $30 per month for additional family members over the age of 18, and $20 per month for additional family members under the age of 18 and older than 18 months.

UrgentCareTravel members receive the following benefits:

  • One (1) Free DOT physical per 12 months
  • $20 per clinic visit - Additional costs may be incurred during a clinic visit based on incidental charges and/or additional services and tests.
  • $10 per call for UrgentCareTravel's 24x7 "On the Road" phone medical consultative service with a physician or licensed nurse practitioner.

With health insurance plans costing more, providing less medical coverage and requiring higher deductible payments, UrgentCareTravel's membership program is a cost-effective option to address the healthcare needs of drivers, their families and trucking companies.
