After launching only six weeks ago, Zagster’s bike share service will be expanding to three new sites, including a University Circle location.

The program started with 34 bikes, in five rental locations, on Sept. 10. The bike sharing service allows users to rent bikes for up to 24 hours, and return them at any Zagster location. Bikes cost $3 an hour to rent, with a cap at $24 for up to 24 hours. There is also a $15 monthly or $75 annual fee, which includes free, unlimited rides if they last under an hour.

The expansion will bring 16 new bikes to three new sites, including a downtown station on West 6th Street, a Tremont station, and a University Circle station at the intersection of Euclid Ave. and Cornell Rd.

“The initial launch did exactly what we wanted it to do – drive awareness and spur additional interest in membership and sponsorship,” said Timothy Ericson, co-founder and CEO of Zagster in a statement. “We’re thrilled that we can expand to additional areas of the city to make the program more available to more residents this year while we work on our expansion plans for next year.”

Residents can access the bikes through the Zagster mobile app, or through the Zagster website.
