EPA water office sorry for tweet about Kardashian app

Is the Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Water a fan of the new Kim Kardashian: Hollywood app? Doubtful.

On Monday evening, the government agency's Twitter account sent a message, "I'm now a C-list celebrity in Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Come join me and become famous too by playing on iPhone!"

The post was retweeted at least 2,800 times and has since been deleted from the agency's account.

Glu Games, the Kardashian game's developers, decided to poke fun at the EPA.

The EPA office said "sorry" for its mistake Tuesday via social media. And thanked Kim Kardashian for the added exposure.

"An EPA fellow inadvertently triggered an auto-generated tweet. She regrets the error and has been advised on the sensitivities of using social media," said Liz Purchia, a spokeswoman for the EPA in an e-mail to USA TODAY Network.

Something tells me the EPA doesn't consider itself a C-list celebrity, anyway.
