Microsoft today announced the free games that Xbox Live Gold members will receive in October on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
Xbox One owners will be getting only one new free game next month. Chariot, a co-op action-platformer from independent developer Frima Studios, will be free when it launches on Xbox One. (It's also coming to PlayStation 4, Wii U, and PC.) It will take the place of Super Time Force, meaning you should be sure to add that game to your library before the end of the month.
With no other free Xbox One game announced, it sounds like Crimson Dragon will remain a Games With Gold title for the third month running.
On Xbox 360, two quality--if a bit older--games will be made free in October. Starting on October 1, you'll be able to pick up Battlefield: Bad Company 2, the replacement for Halo: Reach (which is still free right now). Taking Bad Company's place on October 16 will be Darksiders II, giving you a chance to see what that $50 million went towards making.
