TW junior goalie lifts team to win

The TW Junior team knew that it was gonna be a tough match up
with the Junior team from Minnesota.

All the way to double zeroes on the clock.

Sam Dunn makes some great saves late, and Nick Techel scored the winning goal for a 5-4 win.

TW got out quick early on when Minnesota took a pair of penalties early. TW got their first goal on a 5 on 3 when Jadon Motquin scored and were held off the board until late in the first. Noah Wilson shot a wrister from the point that made its way to the back of the net for a 2-0
TW lead thru one period.

In period two, Minnesota caught TW in a line change and got on the board when Jax Murray scored.

After that goal the game really opened up. TW got a nice rush
to their third goal by a blocked shot by Peter Verstegan.

Verstegan came down and got a shot away but the rebound came out to Brandon Connett who buried it from the midslot for a 3-1 lead.

TW got sloppy in their own end and Minnesota took advantage,
scoring two goals from Cameron Buhl to get Minnesota tied at 3 with TW after two periods.

TW in the third was able to hold off Minnesota and and got a power play with 7:27 left. It took only seven seconds for TW to score. Ian Malcolmson was able to pound a shot home for a 4-3 lead.

The game went back and forth and TW got their two-goal lead back when Techel scored on a nice shot, high far post for a 5-3 lead.

Minnesota really brought the pressure with their net vacant and Dunn the
netminder from TW came up huge a couple times to hold the lead.

Finally with 17 seconds left Minnesota scored an extra attacker goal, but TW held on for the 5-4 win.

Shots were 23-20 in the game.

TW Juniors now have North Dakota on Saturday at 4:45.
