As Chris Boes prepares to head to Lycoming College this fall where he will continue his football career, recent West Milford High School graduate Chris Boes describes the Virginia school as a place with, "a great atmosphere and somewhere that I loved."
Boes described his now former school the same way.
Boes has already started training for
his time at Lycoming College.
As a sophomore Boes was part of the West Milford baseball team that won a sectional championship. For Boes that was a tournament run that he will never forget.
"Winning the state sectional was an all around great experience just to be around it," said Boes.
On the football field Boes and his teammates did not enjoy winning as much as all athlete's desire to but that did not put a damper on the experience.
"The coaches here are really building the program to be a dynasty. They are getting closer to winning," said Boes. "They really are changing the atmosphere."
In high school Boes played both offensive and defensive line.
Starting next month Boes will focus his attention on being a defensive lineman for the Warriors.
"I love playing defense because I can hit people," said Boes. "I liked playing offensive line too but I have always loved playing defense."
Boes has already started training for his time at Lycoming College.
"We have an entire summer manual for running and getting into shape with different agility drills and a lot of movement. I will be in good shape," said Boes.
As he looks back on his time at West Milford Boes admits that he will miss the positive attitude that the school's coaches portrayed as well as his "family and friends."
