The White Swan, Pickering
Hidden behind the Virgina creeper-clad exterior, this gastro pub with rooms boasts an impressive kitchen headed up by chef Darren Clemmit, complete with open fires, cosy sofas and wooden benches. While the rooms are spread between the main inn and converted stable block, kitted out in modern décor and neutral shades, four-posted beds and luxurious heated floors.
Carlton Towers, Carlton
Located in the midst of the Yorkshire countryside, Carlton Towers is an impressive estate. With 250 acres and a Grade 1 listed house, it features a Jacobean Hall, gargoyles, turrets and 16 individually designed bedrooms, which can be rented as part of a house hire event or group booking. The perfect alternative to a hotel.
42 The Calls, Leeds
What was once an 18th-century corn mill has been transformed into a state of the art, city bolthole. Retaining the original features, it has everything from beamed ceilings with their original mill mechanism, oak beams and industrial girders. But there are also power showers, plasma TVs and luxurious cotton sheets. Not to mention the legendary breakfasts.
