On the same day it was announced Harrison Ford would reprise being Indiana Jones, reports surfaced that Disney is winding down its search for the younger incarnation of his other iconic character, Han Solo.

A handful of actors had screen-tests last week in London for the rogue’s origin story, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!), Jack Reynor (Transformers: Age of Extinction), Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service), and Emory Cohen (Brooklyn) were among the young actors who apparently auditioned for the role; actors from Richard Linklater’s new film Everybody Wants Some also had meetings for the project, which is directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (21 Jump Street).

Disney declined to comment on the shortlist of names.

Previous shortlists for Lord and Miller’s take on Solo emerged in the past few months. By December, more than 2,500 actors had auditioned for Solo, per THR.

A January shortlist reportedly included Reynor in addition to Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Scott Eastwood, and more, according to Variety.

The young Han Solo movie, penned by The Empire Strikes Back scribe Lawrence Kasdan and his son Jon, is slated for a May 25, 2018 release.
