FREE 9th Annual Caribbean Day at the Park

The Caribbean Association of North Alabama Inc. (CANA) will host the largest North Alabama Family Fun Day from a Caribbean perspective. The purpose of the event is to introduce the public to the Caribbean culture, cuisine and lifestyle in a family-friendly atmosphere.

Theme for 2014 is “Once Upon A Time,” with the main exhibit this year based on fictional characters from a children’s book. Included in Garden admission – $12 adults, $8 children 3 – 18, $10 seniors & military, members free.

Black Wings Exhibit
@ U.S. Space & Rocket Center, open through November 2
Black Wings: American Dreams of Flight chronicles the story of African Americans who attained great achievements in the world of aviation. Designed by the Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service in conjunction with the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum, the exhibit presents story of a powerful group of aviation proponents that emerged to challenge racial obstacles and create their own legacy in the world of flight.
