Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

2. Segurança
O uso do decodificador é regido por uma série de normas de segurança destinadas a proteger os
usuários e seu ambiente.
Localização
Visando garantir um funcionamento adequado de seu decodificador, você deverá:
• abrigá-lo/protegê-lo contra raios, chuva e raios do sol,
• colocá-lo em um local seco e ventilado,
• afastá-lo das fontes de calor como aquecedores, velas, lâmpadas
etc.
• protegê-lo contra a umidade, instalá-lo em uma superfície plana
onde não haja risco de queda nem de estar ao alcance de
crianças,
• evite os choques violentos. Sempre coloque o seu decodificador
sobre uma superfície plana onde ele não corra o risco de sofrer
fortes abalos,
• não colocar nada sobre seu decodificador (caso contrário,
dificultará sua ventilação): as ranhuras de ventilação localizadas
na caixa protegem seu decodificador contra superaquecimento.
Se você colocar o decodificador em um compartimento, deixe
uma distância de separação de pelo menos 10 cm de cada lado e de 20 cm na parte dianteira e
traseira do decodificador,
• conectá-lo diretamente à rede com os cabos fornecidos, sendo que a tomada deverá estar
localizada próxima ao decodificador e estar de fácil acesso. Não é aconselhável o uso de um cabo
de extensão.
Advertências e medidas de segurança
NUNCA ABRA O DECODIFICADOR, NEM A FONTE DE ALIMENTAÇÃO! ISSO PODE PROVOCAR
CHOQUE ELÉTRICO!
• Utilize exclusivamente a fonte de alimentação fornecida com o decodificador para
conectá-lo à rede. O uso de outro equipamento diferente poderá ser perigoso.
• Por precaução perante qualquer perigo, os adaptadores de rede atuam como dispositivo
de secionamento da alimentação de 110-220 V. Portanto, deverão estar localizados junto
ao aparelho e estar de fácil acesso.
•Ligue o decodificador à tomada de acordo com as instruções de instalação deste folheto
e com as indicações presentes na etiqueta de identificação colocada sobre este (tensão,
corrente, frequência da rede elétrica).
• A etiqueta de identificação está situada embaixo do decodificador.
• Você deverá obrigatoriamente conectar a fonte de alimentação ao decodificador antes de conectar a
fonte de alimentação à tomada de rede. Confira se o fio elétrico está conectado corretamente na
tomada e no decodificador. Um mau encaixe pode oferecer risco de incêndio ou de choque elétrico.
• Use o decodificador num ambiente em que os seguintes valores sejam respeitados:
- temperatura ambiente: entre 0 °C e + 40 °C,
- umidade ambiente: entre 10% e 80%,
- altitude: no máximo 2000 metros (6562 pés).

• Todos os equipamentos requeridos durante a instalação devem estar desligados e ser conectados
de forma correta. Assegure-se de que a instalação seja realizada de forma segura. Os circuitos e as
conexões não seguras podem causar danos graves ao usuário e ao equipamento.
• Para evitar curtos-circuitos (risco de incêndio ou de ser eletrocutado), proteja o decodificador e a
fonte de alimentação contra umidade. Não coloque nenhum objeto que contenha líquidos (por
exemplo, uma garrafa) sobre o aparelho. Qualquer contato com um líquido poderia danificar seu
decodificador e provocar defeitos. Se o líquido penetrar no decodificador ou na fonte de alimentação,
desconecte-os imediatamente da tomada de rede e informe seu fornecedor.
• Não deixe nenhum líquido nem objeto metálico entrar no decodificador através de suas ranhuras de
ventilação.
• Não conecte o decodificador na rede elétrica, se este mostrou recentemente importantes mudanças
de temperatura.
• Pressione os conectores (ENTRADA e SAÍDA LNB ou SAT, HDMI, SPDIF etc.) unicamente com as
mãos. Não utilize nenhuma ferramenta. Se pressionar os conectores demasiadamente, você poderá
danificar os botões. Como resultado, a qualidade da imagem será prejudicada ou o sinal poderá,
inclusive, se perder totalmente.
• Não retire o cartão chip do decodificador.
• Não deixe crianças sem monitoramento diante do decodificador. As crianças subestimam o perigo
associado aos aparelhos elétricos.
• Desligue o decodificador pela tomada de rede da fonte de alimentação antes de conectar ou mudar
a conexão de outros aparelhos (televisor, vídeo, reprodutor de DVD etc.).
• No caso de tempestades, aconselhamos retirar a tomada da antena e a tomada de alimentação.
Mesmo que o decodificador e o televisor estejam desligados, eles poderão ser danificados pelos
raios.
• Em caso de ruído suspeito junto à tomada de força ou do cabo de força, desconecte imediatamente
o cabo de força da tomada, tomando todas as precauções de costume, você corre o risco de tomar
um choque elétrico. Entre em contato com seu revendedor.
• Nunca conecte o seu decodificador em tomada de energia com mau contato, danificada ou
defeituosa, você corre risco de choque elétrico.
• Nunca toque no cabo de força com as mãos úmidas ou molhadas. Você corre risco de levar um
choque elétrico.
• Quando liga ou desliga o cabo de força, sempre segure o cabo pelo plugue. Um cabo danificado
representa uma fonte potencial de incêndios ou de choque elétrico. Nunca puxe o fio elétrico para
desligar o decodificador da tomada de força.
• Nunca coloque objetos sobre o cabo de força, nunca puxe por cima e nunca o dobre. Isso poderia
gerar um risco de incêndio ou de descarga elétrica. Preste sempre atenção para que o decodificador
nunca fique por cima do cabo de força ou de qualquer cabo que seja.
• Nunca coloque objetos, nunca ande, nunca passe com as rodas de equipamento rodante sobre o
adaptador de força. Você pode danificá-lo e gerar risco de incêndio ou de choque elétrico.
• Certifique-se de que o adaptador de força esteja colocado sobre uma superfície plana e estável.
Uma localização ruim pode gerar um desligamento do cabo e poderia gerar um risco de incêndio ou
de choque elétrico. Certifique-se de que o adaptador de força esteja fora do alcance de crianças ou
de animais domésticos.
• Sempre conecte primeiro o cabo do adaptador de força ao seu decodificador, e depois o cabo de
força ao adaptador de força e por último o cabo de força à tomada. Se não fizer a ligação na ordem
indicada, você ficará exposto a um choque elétrico.
• Certifique-se de que o cabo de força esteja fora do alcance de crianças ou animais domésticos.
• Somente o pessoal qualificado pelo fabricante poderá realizar intervenções no decodificador. O não
cumprimento das medidas de segurança poderá ocasionar a perda da garantia.
• Recorra a um instalador especializado se desejar ligar os aparelhos com cabos diferentes dos
fornecidos com o equipamento.

Pilhas
As crianças pequenas podem engolir com facilidade as pilhas/baterias. Portanto, não deixe o controle
remoto sem vigilância.
As pilhas não devem ficar expostas a um calor excessivo, como o do sol, de uma lareira ou de uma
origem semelhante.
Para não danificar o controle remoto, utilize exclusivamente pilhas idênticas ou equivalentes. As pilhas
fornecidas não são recarregáveis.
Interferências
Não coloque o decodificador próximo aos aparelhos que possam provocar interferências
eletromagnéticas (por exemplo, alto-falantes). Isso poderia atrapalhar o funcionamento do decodificador
e provocar distorções na imagem e no som.
Manutenção do decodificador
Limpe seu decodificador com um pano macio e sem felpas. Não utilize nenhum tipo de pano abrasivo,
detergente em pó ou solventes, como álcool ou terebintina, pois podem danificar a superfície do
decodificador.

3. Meio ambiente
A conservação do meio ambiente é uma preocupação essencial da Sagemcom. A Sagemcom deseja
explorar instalações que respeitem o meio ambiente e por isso, optou por integrar o respeito do meio
ambiente no conjunto do ciclo de vida de seus produtos, desde a fase de fabricação até a operação, uso
e eliminação.
A embalagem
A regulamentação europeia obriga a reciclagem dos detritos de embalagens. Eles não devem
ser postos no lixo com resíduos não triados. Estão à sua disposição recursos locais para triar
esses detritos e mandá-los reciclar.
Para facilitar essa reciclagem, respeite as regras de classificação estabelecidas localmente
para esse tipo de resíduos.
As pilhas e as baterias
Se seu produto contém pilhas ou baterias que devem ser depositadas nos pontos de coleta
designados.
O produto
A lata de lixo marcada no produto ou em seus acessórios significa que pertencem à família dos
equipamentos elétricos e eletrônicos.
Por isso, a regulamentação europeia solicita que a coleta seletiva seja realizada:
• nos pontos de distribuição, no caso de compra de um equipamento equivalente,
• nos pontos de coleta, postos à disposição localmente (depósito de lixo, coleta seletiva etc.).
Desse modo, você participará da reutilização e da valorização dos Resíduos de Equipamentos Elétricos
e Eletrônicos que podem acarretar efeitos nefastos ao meio ambiente e à saúde humana.

4. Conexões
Antes de começar a utilizar seu decodificador, verifique se os aparelhos que deverão ser conectados
entre si (decodificador, TV, Home Theater..) estão fora de tensão antes de realizar as diferentes
conexões.
Conexão a um televisor HD mediante HDMI
Para desfrutar de uma imagem com qualidade de Alta Definição (HD), nos programas difundidos como
tal, utilize um cabo HDMI-HDMI (fornecido) entre a tomada HDMI de seu decodificador e a tomada HDMI
de sua tela plana.
1. Una o conector HDMI do decodificador ao conector HDMI de seu televisor.
Nota
Se sua tela plana apenas conta com uma tomada DVI, você deverá conectar
a tomada HDMI de seu decodificador à tomada DVI de sua tela plana (cabo
HDMI-DVI ou adaptador HDMI-DVI não fornecido).
Nesse caso, conecte a saída de áudio de seu decodificador à entrada de
áudio correspondente do conector DVI de sua tela plana.
2. Conecte o cabo de antena (não fornecido) à tomada de entrada do sinal de satélite localizada na
parte traseira do decodificador, por um lado, e, por outro, à tomada para o seu sinal de satélite.
3. Conecte a fonte de alimentação à tomada de 12V do decodificador de um lado e de outro, a uma
tomada de corrente elétrica que se localize próxima do aparelho e à qual possa acessar facilmente.

Conexão a um televisor padrão
1. Ligue o conector de vídeo CVBS (Chroma Video Blanking Synchro) do decodificador ao conector de
vídeo de seu televisor.
2. Ligue os tomadas áudio RCA R/L do decodificador à entrada de áudio de seu televisor ou de seu
equipamento de som.
Nota
Verifique se está conectado a um equipamento de som (televisor ou à cadeia
HiFi), caso contrário, não será emitido nenhum som.
3. Conecte o cabo de antena (não fornecido) à tomada de entrada do sinal de satélite localizada na
parte traseira do decodificador, por um lado, e, por outro, à tomada para o seu sinal de satélite.
4. Conecte a fonte de alimentação à tomada de 12V do decodificador de um lado e de outro, a uma
tomada de corrente elétrica que se localize próxima do aparelho e à qual possa acessar facilmente.

Conecte a saída S/PDIF à entrada de seu amplificador Home Theater.

5. Primeira instalação
Seu decodificador tem um leitor de cartão de acesso. Você pode usar seu decodificador com ou sem o
cartão chip. Para conhecer as ofertas disponíveis, entre em contato com seu fornecedor.
Assegure-se de que sua antena esteja orientada para o satélite Amazonas 2 em 61,0° Oeste.
1. Se você tem um cartão de acesso (cartão chip), introduza-
o no seu decodificador, com o chip orientado para baixo.
2. Ligue seu televisor.
3. Selecione na lista o LNB que corresponde à sua instalação:
• um LNB universal conectado à entrada principal do
sinal de satélite,
• um LNB otimizado "LNB América do Sul 3 OL"
conectado à entrada principal do sinal de satélite,
4. Confirme a sua escolha pressionando a
tecla .
O decodificador inicia automaticamente uma
busca dos canais da rede de televisão por
satélite.
Um cursor informa a evolução da busca e o

• Se não for encontrado nenhum canal,
verifique a conexão da antena satélite e o
