Learn How to Eat Well on Just $35 a Week

Food tends to be one of our biggest budget items, but even with a limited income you can still eat well. Software developer (and avid runner) Erik August Johnson is sharing his $35 a week food experiment to show us how to frugally shop and eat.

Right now, he's on week 2 of the $35/week plan. Erik is able to keep grocery costs low by primarily shopping at Trader Joe's, relying on staples like eggs and beans, and eating mostly meatless meals. And lots of sriracha.

Of course, food costs vary by location (he's in Boston) and maybe you hate beans and peanut butter, but the weekly posts on what he's bought and which products weren't worth it (e.g., peppers) could be enlightening if you feel like you're spending too much on food.
