The Downsizing Dream!

Over the years we've delivered furniture to thousands of beautiful homes throughout the country, but it's only recently that we've noticed something that should have been obvious to as for a long time; the homes we deliver to that are as a result of downsizing tend to be particularly beautiful - especially the décor and furnishings.

Thinking about this a little deeper it should have been obvious that these home owners are probably enjoying total freedom with their interiors for the first time in a long time.  Gone are the day-to-day threats posed by Ribena, IRN-BRU, and pizza toppings, or the dangers faced with toy cars on beautifully finished surfaces.  They are no longer restricted to choosing 'wipe-clean' wallpapers and darker coloured stain-concealing fabrics.

They are also less tied to more 'family functional' furniture, they can select what they really want, both from a functionality and aesthetic perspective.  Moreover, they are less likely to be restricted by budget; presumably the downsizing exercise has left some cash reserves, this almost certainly was not the case even before the family came along when they purchased their first home.

Given the freedom they have, it should be no surprise that these homes are near perfect – they incorporate the taste and style of the owners who have invested in quality furniture and decoration that is totally their choice without the distracting considerations they've had to contend with over the years – it's their space and they are determined to enjoy it.

Naturally, moving house is a good time to take the opportunity change those pieces of furniture you never quite liked, but it makes even more sense when you are downsizing, not just because you are moving to a smaller space, but simply because you can!  And, if you want to leave the odd toy laying around, you can do that too.
