And the winner is ... Wasabi Ginger, Jersey Girl Meneko Spigner-McBeth’s creation.

A Jersey Girl has the winning formula when it comes to Lay's potato chips.

Meneko Spigner-McBeth of Westville won the "Do Us A Flavor" contest with her Wasabi Ginger creation.

The news was announced earlier this week.

McBeth, who works as a nurse at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, will receive a $1 million grand prize or one percent of the chip sales through July 15, 2015 — whichever is higher, according to a Lay's news release.

Jersey Girl Meneko Spigner-McBeth celebrates her $1 million prize in the Lay’s “Do Us a Flavor” contest.

The Jersey Girl says her Asian background and interest in spicy foods inspired the flavor.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of the contest, the Lay's brand may bring one or more of the three runner-up flavors back to store shelves for limited time, according to the release.

The runners up were Cappuccino, Cheddar Bacon Mac N Cheese and Mango Salsa.

Look for the winning Wasabi Ginger flavor on shelves in the near future.

Wondering what the new chip tastes like?

According to a test performed by The Daily Meal food and beverage site, expect "a spicier, tangier version of the old stand-by sour cream and onion."
