CNBC Renews Restaurant Startup for Second Season

Restaurateur Joe Bastianich and Texas-based chef Tim Love's CNBC show Restaurant Startup has been renewed for a second season. According to a press release, the show will return in January 2015 with ten episodes — each one hour long — which is two episodes more than the first seasons' eight episode run. Love initially confirmed that the show had been picked up for two seasons back in June.

Restaurant Startup pits Bastianich and Love against each other as they "vie to invest their own money" in restaurant concepts they believe could be successful. There is no word on if consultant Waylynn Lucas (of Bravo's Eat, Drink, Love) — who worked with contestants on the show — will return. The final episode of season one airs tonight on CNBC.
