The PlayStation Now beta streaming service, which has allowed certain players to stream PS3 games from the cloud, is coming to the PlayStation 4 starting Tuesday.
As a closed beta, PlayStation Now beta has been available on the PlayStation 3 to a select group of users for a couple of months, but Sony announced Monday the system was ready for the PlayStation 4.
PlayStation Now, announced at CES in January, uses Sony-acquired company GaiKai's technology to deliver PlayStation 3 games like The Last of Us to other devices, including the PS3, PS4, handheld Sony Vita and Sony Bravia TVs, all without discs or downloading any files. The service was originally announced at the PlayStation 4 launch event February, 2013 as a feature of the PlayStation 4, but wasn't ready when the console launched in November.
Sony's blog post said beta testers have already logged 50,000 hours of streaming on PlayStation 3s, and should receive their voucher codes for PS4 starting Tuesday. People can still sign up for the closed beta as well.
