SAN BERNARDINO >> A woman was taken into custody after leading officers on a car chase through downtown Saturday morning, police said.

The pursuit started shortly after a man spotted his stolen Chevrolet Tahoe and called police around 9:30 a.m., according to Lt. Dan Gomez.

Officers found the occupied SUV and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the driver failed to yield, Gomez said.

For about 10 minutes, the woman led officers around town until police conducted a forcible stop near Base Line and F Street, according to police.

Once stopped, the woman surrendered and was arrested on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and evading officers, according to Gomez.

Information about her was not immediately available.

No one was injured during the chase, but a business’s fence may have been damaged when the Tahoe came to a stop, Gomez said.
