POMONA (CNS) – Employees and at least one customer have been arrested for illegal gambling, and three computer businesses have been shut down, Pomona police officers said today.

Police served a search warrant last Saturday at PC Time Internet Cafe, 920 E. Holt St. An employee named Sandra Lukes, 33, of Ontario, was arrested for running an illegal gambling operation, according to a department statement. Vice officers also seized 12 computers at the location, according to the statement.

Another employee, Leandra Hernandez, 41, of Montclair, was arrested for suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.

On Thursday, vice officers served search warrants at The Internet Connection, 1151 E. Holt Ave., and cited Maria Guadalupe Escalante, 22, for running an illegal gambling operation. Owner Jose Quintero, 23, of Ontario was arrested for running an illegal gambling operation.

Vice officers seized 14 computers and $84.86, police said.

Susana Garcia, 56, a customer at the business, was arrested for an outstanding felony arrest warrant and Debra Barton, 49, another customer, was arrested for suspicion of possession of methamphetamine.

A warrant was also served at Computer Zone Time, 1648 Indian Hill Blvd., police said.
