AIRC Joins Alliance for International Educational and Cultural Exchange

AIRC is pleased to announce it has been accepted for membership in the Alliance for International Educational and Cultural Exchange. The Alliance is an association of 83 nongovernmental organizations comprising the international educational and cultural exchange community in the United States. Its mission is to formulate and promote public policies that support the growth and well being of international exchange links between the people of the United States and other nations.

As a member of the Alliance, AIRC joins AIEA, the Forum on Education Abroad, English USA, and many other well known organizations in giving our members a voice on visa, immigration, and other regulatory issues framed by U.S. public policy.

AIRC Executive Director John Deupree will represent AIRC at the Alliance annual meeting in October. AIRC is also grateful to have AIRC board member Norm Peterson, the founder of the Alliance, as its advocacy chair and adviser on public policy.

AIRC members are encouraged to contact John or Norm with issues, concerns, or questions about public policy.

Agency Annual Reports Now Available

AIRC Certified Agencies are required to submit annual reports after their first year of certification. The annual report provides a platform for agencies to update AIRC on structure and scope, notify AIRC on progress made in AIRC Certification Standard areas, and highlight agency successes.

The report compiles reported successes in 2013 from a selection of agencies certified between 2009 and 2011. A complete list of certified agencies can be found on the final pages of the report.
