Transportation Agencies and Electric Vehicles

Funding and travel limitations as a result of the uncertainty with regard to the Highway Trust Fund have necessitated the cancellation of the FHWA-sponsored Transportation Agencies and Electric Vehicles Workshop scheduled for Wednesday, July 23.

Pacific Coast Collaborative Workshop on Zero Emission Vehicles in Fleets

Recognizing the unique role ZEVs can play in public and private fleets—and the role that fleets play in influencing broader ZEV markets—the leaders of the Pacific Coast Collaborative (PCC) jurisdictions of California, Oregon, Washington, and British Columbia have committed to a goal of "expanding the use of zero-emission vehicles, aiming for 10 percent of new vehicle purchases in public and private fleets by 2016." The PCC is launching its initiative on ZEVs in fleets through this workshop.

Energize Oregon Coalition Annual Meeting

Our next meeting will build upon conversations started at the Coalition's launch last fall and ongoing discussions taking place within the four working groups. We will review our progress, discuss next steps, and explore what other, if any, topics the Coalition should pursue.

Urban Mobility Electric Bike Tour - led by Cycle Portland
July 25, 3:00-5:00pm

Come explore Portland on an electric bike! Our tour will show you what makes Portland a leader in sustainability urban mobility and an ideal electric vehicle test bed. You'll get the chance to see key electric vehicle infrastructure "landmarks," such as Electric Avenue, a street with parking dedicated entirely for electric vehicle charging. You'll also experience Portland's natural beauty and easy-to-use bike infrastructure during one of the best months of the year to experience biking in the city. The tour will be stopping along the way at Hopworks, a local "bike bar" and brewpub, to give participants a true taste of Portland.

The two-hour tour will be provided through Cycle Portland, a local company that specializes in helping people experience the city on a bike. A limited number of seats are available, so reserve your ticket to ride today!

Columbia Gorge Electric Vehicle Tour - Drinks and Dinner included!

July 25, 3:00-8:30pm

Experience Oregon and one of our greatest natural treasures - the Columbia Gorge - in an all-electric Nissan LEAF. Our chauffeured tour will take you and fellow guests into the stunning Gorge, stopping along the way at key destinations such as Multnomah Falls and the Women's Forum Scenic Viewpoint. At Hood River, the tour will take a pit stop at Full Sail Brewing and enjoy a flight of locally brewed beers. On the return trip to Portland, guests will be treated to a delicious dinner and more local beers at Thunder Island Brewing Company.

The tour will also give you the opportunity to see some of Oregon's most frequently used electric vehicle fast charging stations. We'll be stopping to recharge at stations located in Cascade Locks and Hood River that are part of the West Coast Electric Highway.

The tour will be a wonderful way for both of-of-town and local attendees to see the Columbia Gorge in a new way - while enjoying good food, drinks, and conversation!
