Spencer Stone, one of the three Americans who helped tackle a gunman on a French train in August, was stabbed in Sacramento, California early this morning (Oct. 8), according to CBS Sacramento. The Pentagon confirmed that Stone, an airman in the US air force, is in stable condition at a local hospital.
Sacramento police told the Los Angeles Times that a male stabbing victim—who was not identified—left a nightclub and then “had an argument with an unknown suspect,” who stabbed the man multiple times. “There’s no motive,” Officer Traci Trapani said. “It appears to be a random deal.”
The police also issued a statement on Facebook, saying:
It is believed that the victim was out with a group of friends when a physical altercation led to the victim being stabbed multiple times in his upper body. Detectives were called to the scene to assist with the investigation and the victim is currently being treated for what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.
