First Mafia III Trailer Coming August 5
After an goof with its domain registrations revealed the existence of Mafia III, 2K has dropped all pretense. The publisher has confirmed the game this morning as well as when we’ll get our first look.
Mafia III will be revealed on August 5 at 8 a.m. Eastern. You’ll be able to watch the trailer on the official YouTube channel (and we’ll have it posted as soon as we can).
While the game is being revealed during Gamescom, it doesn’t seem like it will have more of a presence than that at the show. Perhaps 2K will surprise us though, and we’ll have more on which we can report.
Our Take
It’s been five years since Mafia II was released, and in the intervening years, developer 2K Czech was shuttered. That leaves one question: Who is developing Mafia III? Good money is on the new studio called Hangar 13. (Note: Hangar 13 is confirmed as the developer behind Mafia III. The studio's logo appears on the official website.)
