A short film charting a bottle of whisky's scenic trip from the Scottish mainland to Islay – and a team of cyclists' race to meet it – has been released.

The 17-year-old whisky, The Scotch Malt Whisky Society's Dark, Smouldering Flamenco Gypsy, travels via motorcycle and boat to the island's Islay House ahead of the Islay Whisky Festival, which took place last month.

Meanwhile, a team of cyclists from the society's in-house magazine, Unfiltered, do the 'Tour de Islay' – taking in all eight of the island's distilleries on two wheels. After a hard day's ride, the peloton's reward is, of course, a dram of the whisky waiting for them at Islay House.
