Incanto Space Re-Opens As Porcellino

Just a month after Chris Cosentino and Mark Pastore's long-running Incanto shut down, it's re-emerged in the form of the more casual Porcellino. The intended shift is from fine dining to a more approachable neighborhood spot with a retail/deli component to better serve Noe Valley denizens, without sacrificing Incanto's Italian influences or whole-animal roots. (Inside Scoop got the first word on the opening, which, in a rarity for SF, actually arrived earlier than expected.) While Cosentino will no longer be in the kitchen day-to-day, devoting his energies to his still-mysterious new project in SOMA, he did develop, and will continue to consult on, the menu.

For on-the-go Noe-ites, Porcellino boasts a literal meat market (think a full selection of Boccalone salumi and sausages, plus pasta, olive oil, sauces, etc.) and takeaway wine selection. Dining in, it's a fast-casual concept: diners order at a counter, then seat themselves. The all-day menu offers sandwiches like a Boccalone combo with provolone, a prosciutto crudo with arugula, and a mortadella hot dog, as well as small plates like buffalo mozzarella with chili and lemon oil or house chicharrones with pecorino. There are also some large plates and pasta on offer, like spaghettini carbonara and pesto pappardelle. Fans of Incanto's tuna heart spaghettini, please note that it won't be making a comeback, but some "old favorites from Incanto" may appear on the menu from time to time. Here's the full menu.

Hours for the new spot are Monday-Saturday, 11am-9pm, and Sunday, 11am-6pm (closed Tuesdays).
