Mold Spore Levels Now 'Acceptable' In Some Rooms of Contaminated Cheltenham School

By Brad Segall

CHELTENHAM, Pa. (CBS) -- Officials in the Cheltenham (Montgomery County) School District are still keeping a close eye on mold problems at Cedarbrook Middle School.

The district earlier this week received the results of indoor air quality tests performed in the school last Friday.

The tests mark the fifth consecutive week of air sampling in the building by an outside environmental consultant.

Tests were done in three rooms, along with the main office and the nursing office.  The results show acceptable air quality in two of the rooms and the nursing office, but slightly elevated mold spore levels still exist in the third room and the main office.

The school district says it will continue weekly monitoring in five additional areas at the school.

The district is still mulling over four options for Cedarbrook which include building a new school or renovating the current building.
