Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig‘s Lifetime movie A Deadly Adoption has secured its first international TV sales.
The dramatic thriller about a successful couple who house and care for a pregnant woman, played by Jessica Lowndes, has been picked up by Shaw Media in Canada, Channel 5 in the U.K., Lifetime in the U.K., Poland and Africa and TF1 in France.
The TV movie, which bowed on Lifetime on June 20, has also been sold to SBS Discovery TV in Sweden, NBC Universal Australia and NBC Universal (Diva) in Asia. The movie hails from Mar Vista Entertainment and National Picture Show.
Rachel Lee Goldenberg (Escape from Polygamy) directed the movie from a script written by Andrew Steele. A Deadly Adoption is executive produced by Ferrell, Adam McKay, Sharon Bordas, Fernando Szew, Steele and Jessica Elbaum.
Adam Silver, Fritz Manger and Max Osswald share the producer credits. MarVista handles international distribution of the TV movie.
