I often get the question, "Who's fighting Common Core near me?" And I've decided to try to provide the answer. Here's a state-by-state list of sites set up specifically to oppose the Common Core. So you don't have to wade through someone's views on other issues.
This is sketchy, but it's a start. The groups here range from six people to 10,000. And I'm encouraged by those six--people who decided to do something instead of just whine.
I've divided the sites into "national" and "state," but some of the sites link to each other, and some, such as the Missouri groups, seem to be reaching out across the country as well as informing the locals.
Many of these groups are "conservative," but most concentrate on Common Core issues, not mentioning other topics. They offer solid research and although a few jump off the cliff with a United Nations conspiracy, most don't. I have indicated where some do mention the primacy of their Christian teachings and other issues.
It makes me wonder: Where are the progressives? I fear they talk only to each other and don't make much effort to bring others into the anti-Common Core fold. I hope some progressives will study some of the sites below and maybe find some ways to spreading the message.
Conservative or progressive or "neither," find a site in your state and offer some energy, some information, and some help.

- Truth in American Education identifies itself as
a national, non-partisan group of concerned parents and citizens. We view educational issues from different perspectives; however, we are in agreement, that the promotion and implementation of elements of the Race to the Top (RTTT) policies are misguided and harmful. The Common Core State Standards (CCSS), CCSS assessments, and state longitudinal data systems development along with associated privacy issues are being implemented nationwide with insufficient research-based evidence and insufficient public examination and discourse.
TAE Advocates formed to share information, network with other individuals and groups with similar concerns, identify initiatives that are unnecessarily disruptive, experimental, and without fact-based support, and develop positions related to these issues in the educational interest of our school children
They feature a video series by Jane Robbins of the American Principles Project as well as Pioneer Institute White Papers by Sandra Stotsky, James Milgram, and Ze’ev Wurman.
They also have model resolutions for CCSS opposition and news sent in from across the country.
