When it comes to college business programs with the best return on investment, one New Jersey university has risen to near the top of the list — and it doesn’t even have a formal business school.Princeton University ranks No. 4 on the list of the top 25 ranked business and economic programs with the best return on investment, according to a new survey from BestValueSchools.com. (The university’s president, Christopher Eisgruber, was recently named to the NJBIZ Power 100 list of the most powerful people in New Jersey business.)

The rankings were based on a list of 25 top universities in the United States as determined by the Center for World Class Universities at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, according to a press release. The 25 schools were then rated by Best Value Schools according to potential earnings as projected by Payscale.com.

The rankings are part of an ongoing series examining degree programs with the best return on investment, including rankings of computer science degree programs and engineering programs. The average cost for a graduate degree is around $80,000, according to CareerBuilder.com.
