The long-awaited interchange between County Line Road and Interstate 565 will open in two weeks.
Madison Mayor Troy Trulock made the announcement via Facebook on Friday. He said the interchange will open April 10 at 10:45 a.m.
"This will be the second interchange for the city of Madison and will enhance the quality of life for our city and citizens," Trulock wrote on his Facebook page.
The city worked with the Alabama Department of Transportation for a long time to bring the access point to fruition. It has been anticipated for years until work began in December 2013.
This is one of at least three major road projects in the works for Madison. Read more from Trulock's State of the City address.
