This Hobby is Changing

Has anyone noticed how the tone of ads in the hobby has gone from "XXX" more toward "R" in recent years. Im not saying that dates themselves are different but Ads that used to brag about being "kinky" "nasty" or "wild are replaced with more sweet GFE offerings. Personally I like the tone but Im wondering if this is the influence of TV shows depiction the hobby.  Also might be apprehension that "wild" "xxx" providers might not be as safe. Any thoughts.

toning it down because of well-publicized recent LE activity, so the ads are a little more vague lately.  Plus, I think there are more customers gravitating to GFE-type sessions rather than PSE.  Very astute observation.

P411 doesn't allow sexual words in provider's ads, any longer.

IMHO, many provider's ads have toned down because of LE scrutiny.

the LEO issue is a good point. the "menu" items in ads can be used against someone if shit hits the fan. not to mention some states (like VA) that have antiquated sodomy or sex laws can use the things in the ads to help LEO. probably a smart move. I wonder if the dates themselves are turning less risqué and more showtime GFE

My latest 'fantasy' TER review, for your answer. ;)

More distinction between PSE and GFE. I don't think many advert sites let you use hardcore language anymore. I personally offer GFE because I'm too squishy and sweet to be seen as a pornstar :)

or hasn't changed as I'm only less than two years in. I also obviously can't speak for other folks. In terms of how I convey what experience a visiting friend may expect in my ads, I have made some shifts especially over the past several months. I love engaging in a "XXX" experience. But I also don't see any conflict between being sweet and whimsical and also loving to get my ass worked or being thrilled at the thought of being showered with warm, golden nectar. In choosing what words seem most authentic, my diction betrays my Anglophone Caribbean heritage, nerdy/awkward-introverted nature and interests, and raunchy inclinations. Just as I don't want a gent to be confused about what I look like, I also want to be clear about my vibe.

Also, I'm not really here for mainstream depictions of sex work and for the most part tune them out. I'm more so influenced by sex worker cultural spaces which in ways seem to be flourishing more or maybe I just have more access to them than when I started.

The ad read, all sex acts will be performed with condoms.

... she was selling her time in the ad BTW.

Maybe the demographics of the median hobbyist are changing?  The economy being what it is, provider rates are probably rising faster (gotta pay them bills) than the disposable income of the younger hobbyists who are more likely to want PSE.  The product is being driven by the tastes and needs of an older customer than before.

Have you also perceived an increase in women looking for SB relationships?

I'm seeking a Sugar Daddy/Sugar Baby relationship, and I hope TER adds a SD/SB discussion board.

If LE wants to get your ass bad enough they will.  This is one of the only places I can still see express me.  I definitely screen the hell out of people but being racy or risqué has always been pretty much the only way to express me. I did post an ad on the Atlanta board today that may have raised a few eyebrows but there's nothing unsafe about anything ever done or implied.  Yes, things have changed and I've had to tone it down for most sites.
Just a different perspective and my .02 ;)
XOXO,

The tone of the ads may be changing but the hobby is not. We still pay hookers money to have sex with us. That never changes. LE and tv shows have no influence other than on the naïve. Anybody with a brain knows prostitution is prostitution. Doesn't matter how the ad is worded.

Ads are still ads.  Although I no longer waste time on BP, they haven't really changed here.  It was never triple X here for the most part, so I respectfully disagree.  As for "wild", "nasty", etc., there are still plenty of those.  Personally, I've always been a GFE fan.

As for TV shows depicting the hobby such as Girl Friend Experience, not my experience, and I always turn it off after a few minutes because that, and the undertone of disapproval.  Then again, I always go with indies over agencies and SB's, and will continue to do so because it works for me.  May you find your experiences as pleasant.

Maybe it's too much work for the same dollar.  It's hard work doing too many of those in one day.
Also they better be performing a fantastic "bbbjcim" with those kinds of Promises.
Girls are getting more and more judgmental with each other over going "XXX, Kinky, Nasty".

That's what I'm seeing from my angle.

You'll know in the bedroom not on my ad. Plus gfe is more personal not so much porn style. lol

I have actually noticed a trend towards actually being fairly specific in offering services that would have been considered pretty edgy twenty years ago.  Yes - the actual text is toned down from the carnival XXX, old Times Square template - "Live Girls here" sort of thing.  That's a good thing.

I doubt TV has anything to do with it or a feeling that wild XXX providers might not be as safe.  I think it just sells better.

There are some wonderful examples on the Atlanta board of some provider ads that are essentially R rated that advertise some pretty wild services that are not by any definition "sweet GFE" offerings
