Registered Nurse Finds Repeat Success as a FlexJobs Member

We’re focusing this week on one such success story—a registered nurse who found repeat success as a FlexJobs member.

This week, we’re talking to Lori S., a “repeat customer” of FlexJobs, who renewed her membership and found another great flexible job three years after she first discovered our site. On her second successful go-round as a FlexJobs member, Lori was hired as a health care manager with the Humana at Home division of Humana, a national leader in insurance, healthcare, and wellness solutions.

Finding Great Flexible Work—Twice—With FlexJobs

A resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lori answered a brief series of questions FlexJobs asks of job seekers who successfully find flexible jobs using our comprehensive, vetted listings of thousands of part-time, remote, and freelance jobs. Lori couldn’t quite remember how she first discovered FlexJobs three years ago. “I wish I could tell you where I heard about FlexJobs,” she wrote.

She continued: “I don’t know if I found you while searching the web for work-from-home type jobs, or if I heard about it somewhere else, but I found my first [flexible] job through FlexJobs three years ago, and my second job offer through FlexJobs came recently.”

Since she’d initially enjoyed great success with FlexJobs, Lori said she didn’t hesitate to sign up a second time when she decided she was ready for a career change. “I immediately signed up again when I was ready for another change, remembering how much I loved your site,” Lori told us.

Because of her positive experience using FlexJobs three years ago, Lori told us she was very comfortable when she began a new search for a remote job. “Probably my main reason for coming back was that FlexJobs is the first 100 percent legitimate website I have found while searching for ‘work-from-home’ type jobs,” Lori said.

When she launched her second FlexJobs search, Lori was able to target specific jobs that fit her needs at this stage in her career. “I found it very easy to put in the criteria I wanted and block what I didn’t want, making almost every result that came up a viable job opportunity for me,” Lori wrote.

Lori had a good amount of experience searching for remote work on other sites before she joined FlexJobs. “I am an RN,” she wrote, “and even as a professional, trying to find a legitimate nursing job I can do from home is the most challenging thing I have done until I found your site. Most searches of this kind return results full of scams, and it takes hours to sort through the junk to find any real jobs in the search results. It was so refreshing to come to a site where you can literally custom-design the exact job you want through your search criteria!”

Lori found a lot to like as she navigated the FlexJobs site. She enjoyed “the dashboard, how user-friendly the website feels and the daily emails with potential jobs,” she wrote. “I found that I used the site strictly to search last time, but this time, [I] took the few minutes to put in some criteria and information and found the website can do so much more for you than just a basic job search function.”

“I have never paid for a job search type of site before finding FlexJobs,” Lori said. “I am a believer in saving the money, doing a little extra work, and finding the same results or product on my own. Your membership has been worth every penny I have spent both times I have joined.” Lori offered details about her most recent FlexJobs search, compared to her first time. “I have loved the job I found though FlexJobs three years ago and am only changing jobs to find full-time hours, but have managed to stay in the same position through a different company, still from the comfort of my home,” Lori wrote.

Inspiration and Insight for Other Job Seekers

As a nursing professional, Lori said she was grateful to find a source for flexible jobs that she could trust. “Thank you so much for such a wonderful website!” she wrote. “I have to remind myself it’s not just for nurses, and recommend you to all of my friends, not just my colleagues.”

She added: “If I do need to make a change again, I will surely be back, and I want to thank you again for such a great job search experience.”
