Virgin America is adding Denver to its route map.

The carrier will launch service from the city on March 15, offering nonstop flights to its main hub in San Francisco. Virgin America will fly three daily round-trip flights each weekday, with a slightly reduced weekend schedule.

Virgin America says Denver had become “the No. 1 destination requested by the airline’s high-tech corporate accounts.”

“Denver is of course a world-class leisure travel destination, but its booming high-tech economy has also made it the No. 1 requested destination by our Silicon Valley-based corporate clients,” Virgin America CEO David Cush says in a statement.

Virgin America will face significant competition on the route. United, Frontier and Southwest all offer multiple daily flights on the route.

United, which operates large hubs in both Denver and San Francisco, has as many as nine daily round-trip flights on the route. Frontier, which also operates a hub in Denver, flies four daily round-trip flights between the cities. And Southwest’s winter 2016 schedule shows three daily flights.

“We’re looking forward to bringing a breath of fresh airline competition to this important market and to building strong community ties with the City of Denver and State of Colorado,” Cush adds.

Denver will become Virgin America’s 24th destination. For Denver International Airport, Virgin America will be the 18th carrier to offer regularly schedule passenger service there.

“We are so pleased to welcome Virgin America to the growing number of airline choices at Denver International Airport,” Denver airport CEO Kim Day adds in a statement from Denver International. “We have heard consistently from travelers asking for Virgin America service in Denver, and the carrier’s expansion to the Mile High City means there are now even more options to connect to the West Coast and beyond.”
