Labour and Wait : The Anti- “Desperate Housewives” Paradise

Imagine an unexpected little paradise to help you glam up household chores-- with a mix of home decor, DIY and even clean products for your humble abode.

Make your way to Labour and Wait, a shop installed in a former beer garden on Redchurch Street, with a work-in-progress spirit and an atelier ambiance. A concept created by Rachel Wythe-Moran and Simon Watkins, two former designers frustrated by redesigning products every season and more interested in offering classic pieces.

We loooove: The art of making Desperate Housewife products ultra-stylish. We would take it all home, starting with the elegant marble cake mould (£18) and salad bowl (£28), the tinted-glass jars (£18), door mats, workshop-style brooms (£20) and very cute aluminum dustpans (£16). Here, even tools look terrific!

The same spirit touches the small fashion range offered here, with Breton striped shirts (£45) and hipster workshirts (£55).

Also cool: The DIY products like strings of every sort, or soap flakes from Marseille for doing delicate laundry.

Open Tuesday to Sunday, 11am- 6pm.

Also discover a treasure trove of gifts and goodies !
