Midlands e-commerce platform launched to aid exporters

A STAFFORDSHIRE-based company has launched an e-commerce platform targeted at exporters with the support of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI).

GreatBritishStore.com will enable thousands of British-based SMEs to showcase their products and services to a global market.

The eCommerce platform aims to make selling overseas easier and more profitable, by providing an entry-level exporting solution for UK-registered businesses, regardless of previous international sales experience.

Nick Lewis, director and co-founder at GreatBritishStore.com, said: “We believe we can add at least £3.6bn of export turnover by 2020 as a result of launching GreatBritishStore.com, simply by allowing qualifying SMEs to tap into the Government’s unrivalled global marketing machine for UK firms in UKTI.

“Our research with SMEs has confirmed the need for this unique platform – they think it’s great news. As an exporter myself, I wish GreatBritishStore.com had been available when I launched my product to the world ten years ago.”

Paul Noon, the former West Midlands UKTI regional director, who has championed GreatBritishStore.com, said: “GreatBritishStore.com, supported by UKTI, provides a new and exciting opportunity to get British produced and designed products and services in front of global buyers.

“UK companies make great products and deliver world beating services, and GreatBritishStore.com will help them find new markets and sell more products and services overseas.”

GreatBritishStore.com allows British businesses to showcase and sell their products or services to 106 countries on an eCommerce platform for £199 per year.
