AT&T really wants to make your car connected
The telecom giant is expanding its mobile broadband offerings for turning your car into a Wi-Fi hotspot.
More and more connected cars are going to roll out in 2016 (just ask Google), and AT&T would like you to know it's prepared to meet the demand for mobile broadband.
Starting this week, the Dallas telecom giant will offer its Unlimited Plan customers the option to add certain connected cars or a ZTE Mobley Wi-Fi plug-in device to their plan for $40 a month for unlimited data. If you don't need unlimited, $10 a month will get you an extra 1GB.
AT&T stated that as of the first quarter of 2016, it had more than 8 million cars on its network and has connected more than 50 percent of all new connected passenger vehicles in the US.
