Ron Brace funeral today

The funeral for Ron Brace, the former Burncoat High School and professional football player, will be held Monday in Springfield.

Mr. Brace, 29, died April 23 in Springfield. Authorities have not released the cause of death.

Services will begin at noon at St. John's Congregational Church, 45 Hancock St., Springfield. Calling hours are at 10 a.m., also at the church. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield.

Mr. Brace lived in Springfield before moving to Worcester as a youngster. He attended Burncoat High, where he starred on the football field as a lineman. He attended Boston College before being drafted by the New England Patriots in 2009. He played in the National Football League for four years.
