Description
An ocean drum is a truly unique instrument. It looks like a frame drum from the Middle East, but when tilted back and forth, it sounds remarkably like gentle waves at the seashore. This simple, green craft utilizes recycled materials and offers several crafting tips as well as different ways to play the drum and use it in a classroom, therapy or homeschool environment.
This music project is a favorite of many of the autistic schools and students that I visit regularly. Although this drum is well-loved in the therapy or special needs classrooms, making and playing an ocean drum is soothing and relaxing for anyone of any age or ability.
