Last week we heard the tragic news that musical legend Prince had died, aged 57, at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota. Since then, fans have been paying tribute to Prince around the world – changing subway signs in New York, turning Niagara Falls purple – as well as plenty of Prince-themed tribute parties in London. And now London-based street artist Pegasus has created a mural in honour of the artist in Turnpike Lane in north London, on Langham Road near the Underground station.
The artwork is a black and white portrait of Prince, surrounded by doves, roses and his signature 'love symbol'. Fittingly, it's in a purple frame and somebody's even draped a purple feather boa over the mural.
Pegasus told the Evening Standard: 'Prince was one of my idols, a true visionary with extraordinary talent. He was an inspiration to many and loved by all. When I heard of his passing I had to pay tribute'.
